Cross Connections is more than just a Biblically based Christ-centered counseling and training organization, thanks to the unique way we partner with pastors and churches in helping provide care to their members.
In order to meet with a Cross Connections counselor, clients must first be referred by their pastor. This allows us to partner with their pastor in providing care, keeping the pastor in the loop throughout the process without betraying client confidentiality. One of the goals of Cross Connections is to connect or reconnect clients to their home congregation. "A concerned parent approached me regarding their daughter who was engaged in self-harming behavior (cutting)", said Pastor Doug Croucher from Concordia Lutheran Church. "After agreeing that a referral to Cross Connections was necessary, the young lady met with one of their professional Biblical counselors and received excellent, Christ-centered counsel. I met with the mother and daughter again a few months later to see how they were doing and to spend time in prayer. They told me that they had received fantastic guidance, the daughter was well on her way to recovery, and they could not have been more pleased for the experience they had with the Biblical counseling ministry of Cross Connections." In order to fully enjoy of the benefits of that partnership, churches can become members of the Cross Connections Community for an initial membership fee and recurring annual contribution based upon their average worship attendance. Benefits that are exclusive to churches that hold membership in the Cross Connections Community include: -professional assessment to determine whether prospective clients could best benefit from professional counseling, working with a Covenant Partner or being matched with a Stephen Minister -opportunities to send parishioners to a Covenant Partner for Biblical guidance For information on becoming a Cross Connections Community congregation, contact Matt Konow, Executive Director, via email |
