Spring Fund Raiser (featuring the comedy of Jeff Allen)

CROSS CONNECTIONS SPRING FUNDRAISER

Looking for an entertaining evening to laugh away the winter blahs? “It’s a Spring Thing, a Cross Connections Comedy Event” is just the ticket! Set aside Thursday, March 1, 2012, for an evening that will include a full course dinner and will feature Christian comedian Jeff Allen (jeffallencomedy.com). The fundraiser will be held at the Marriott Grand Marquis Ballroom (Washington Center Road) and the doors will open at 6:00pm.

There are several ways you can participate. You can call Cross Connections to reserve individual seating (a donation of $75 will be requested on the evening of the event). Or you may want to sponsor a table of eight for $1000, either as an individual or as a business. A Table Sponsorship includes eight places for dinner and the evening’s entertainment. For information on sponsoring a table, or to make individual reservations call Matt Konow, Executive Director at 744-3228, ext. 337 (days), or Peggy Courtney, Office Manager at 744-3227, ext. 327 (evenings).

The Lord has blessed the ministry of Cross Connections over the past years. Under the leadership of Clinical Directors Terrie Ensley and Kathy Eggold, the network of congregations has grown to forty eight, plus the students and staff of Concordia Theological Seminary. The professional counseling staff now numbers ten plus two counseling interns. On average, 150 individuals per month receive Biblical counseling.

In addition, Cross Connections has trained twenty-five active Covenant Partners (lay counselors). They will be joined by another twenty-five Covenant Partners who will be commissioned this spring after completing 18 months of training. Our Covenant Partners serve an average of 35 individuals per month.

As Cross Connections grows, and more individuals are being referred to Cross Connections by their pastors, so does its staff and its budget. Cross Connections is self-funded for about two thirds of its budget. The remaining third comes from grants, donors with a heart for the Cross Connections mission, and from fundraisers such as “It’s a Spring Thing”. Many thanks to Trivent for Lutherans—Greater Hoagland Group for their generous Grand Event sponsorship.

Seating for “It’s A Spring Thing” is limited. The event promises to be a fun filled evening. Call the Cross Connections office for any further information at 744-3228 ext. 337 or 327.
