Cross Connections is more than just a biblically-based Christ-centered counseling and training organization, thanks to the unique way we partner with pastors and churches in helping provide care to their members.
In order to meet with a Cross Connections counselor, clients must first be referred by their pastor. This allows us to partner with their pastor in providing care, keeping the pastor in the loop throughout the process without betraying client confidentiality.
"We're in regular contact and regular communication with our congregation members as they're receiving care," said Rev. Stacy Downing, pastor at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
One of the goals of Cross Connections is to connect or reconnect clients to their home congregation.
"Those that have been through it I can see in worship on a regular basis," said Rev. David Maki, pastor of Southwest Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne. "There seems to be, especially in the case of one particular couple, a richer worship life. They seem to have made a greater connection with the body of the church."
In order to fully enjoy of the benefits of that partnership, churches can become members of the Cross Connections Community for a one-time fee. Many of our services are limited to people referred from those member churches.
Benefits that are exclusive to churches that hold membership in the Cross Connections Community include:
- complimentary professional assessment from our clinical directors to determine whether prospective clients could best benefit from professional counseling, working with a covenant partner or being matched with a Stephen Minister.
- discounted professional counseling rate of $35/session for anyone referred by a pastor of a member church + free use of the services of trained covenant partners (learn more about covenant partners here.)
- opportunities to send parishioners to covenant partner training.
